The pneumatic hand tools shown were
designed and built by Parrish Associates in order to solve a tooling
problem at our customer's manufacturing plant.
The customer had been using a hand-operated, mechanical nibbler
to balance a small cooling fan during its assembly. These tools were too cumbersome and did not offer a single "bite" per trigger-pull.
PAI designed and built this tool to solve those problems yet be ergonomically
sized. The result was the model shown at the right with the thumb-lever-operator.
The
customer then displayed the new tool at an inter-company ergonomics team
meeting. A sister company liked the unit but wanted the
tool to be operated an orientation 90 degrees from the original.
So, the pistol-grip version was designed and built.
Each plant now has several in operation with no problems
having been reported.
